I directed this music video in and around the Toronto harbour on a sunny weekend in the spring of 2005.

With a small crew of friends, and in the spirit of whimsy, we shot on super 16mm film and aimed for a bit of a throwback to earlier pre-MTV music videos.

This short dramatic music film features the beautiful and talented Maryem Hassan Tollar.

It is an Arabic lament, a love poem from a woman to her deceased lover.

I wanted to create something stark and minimal to express her inner world of loss.
