Liz is a passionate artist with a strong commitment to social and environmental justice. I have been honoured to be the subject of her film Water On The Table and to have her chronicle my life in a very important and interesting year as I served as the Senior Advisor on Water to the 63rd President of the Unites Nations General Assembly (2008 – 2009). Water On The Table is everywhere. It is being used in universities, high schools, community groups, church based human rights groups etc. And when I travel, people know about it! It is an important contribution to our movement to have water declared a right. Well done Liz!

Liz Marshall's passion, tenacity and artistic vision won me over. In "Water On The Table," Liz created a distinctive homage to this precious resource, while exploring the ideologies that could affect the future of water in this country (Canada). Liz is a filmmaker with a mission to explore the issues of our time."

I met Liz in 2000, right after she returned from filming in Sierra Leone during the war. She was a young, passionate, brave camerawoman/director, and I knew right away that nothing would stop her. She has gone on to do so many wonderful films, and her work has continually been informed by a beautiful artistic sensibility, an ability to convey complicated world issues through powerful people stories, and a gutsy, yet respectful approach to her subjects. She brings vitality, life and compassion into everything she does.

Liz Marshall was wonderful to work with. I'm not usually comfortable making videos or watching myself in them, but she made a video for me that I felt was really honest and beautiful.

Liz's films and photography capture not only the interest of her audience but also their hearts. While her work informs us about some of the most gripping issues of the world today, her touching films are impossible to watch without becoming emotionally involved.

I have had the honour to work with Liz Marshall on 3 music videos. She is an extremely dedicated and creative director with a huge vision and she gives herself tirelessly to all the projects I have worked on with her, and to other projects I have been able to see such as her work with War Child Canada and with the Stephen Lewis Foundation. She cares deeply about the world in which we live and actively tries to make it a better place through her work as well as in her daily life. I find her films very moving and dramatic and meaningful, but she can also have a sense of fun. I hope I have the opportunity to collaborate with her on many future projects.

My experience working with Liz was an absolutely enjoyable collaboration. She is a director who is fiercely passionate, curious and driven and also extremely sensitive to the people she works with on both sides of the camera. Liz has a natural ability to connect deeply with her documentary subjects and she is very much at ease in difficult or challenging shooting scenarios and I was always amazed at how cool she could be in the trickiest of situations and still come away with beautiful material. Liz is someone I deeply admire and hope to continue to work with in the future.
